Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 17and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.


This is a limited Term position which may be extended or become permanent.

Under the direction of the Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) or the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) III, Correctional Facility (CF), the Resource SRN II, CF is responsible for planning and evaluating the objectives and effectiveness of the Whole Person Care Program (WPCP) and other Complete Care Model (CCM) initiatives such as Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment (ISUDT), Hepatitis C Treatment (HCV), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), and other programs at the institution. The Resource SRN II, CF is responsible for planning, assigning, supervising, and evaluating the work of the institution's WPCP team of nursing, social services, and administrative support staff. The Resource SRN II, CF coordinates with members of the primary care team and pharmacy staff, as well as interfaces with mental health, specialty, and dental services. The Resource SRN II, CF receives, disseminates, implements, and monitors the adherence to policies and procedures, applies supervisory rules and principles, resolves personnel issues, sets ISUDT goals for self and staff, and ensures the continuity of quality patient care. The Resource SRN II, CF actively participates and supports the CCM.

Minimum Qualifications:
Either I

Experience: One year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Supervising Registered Nurse I, Correctional Facility.

Or II

Experience: Three years of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Registered Nurse, Correctional Facility.

Or III

Experience: Three years of registered nursing experience within the last five years, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity, and two years of which must have been in a general acute care hospital. (Possession of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or a Master's Degree in Nursing may be substituted for one year of general acute care hospital experience.)

Candidates who are within six months of completing the experience requirements will be admitted to the examination, but they must complete all requirements before they will be considered eligible for appointment.

Candidates new to CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis (TB) testing prior to appointment followed by department annual TB testing/evaluation thereafter.
