About the Position

Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Employee Health & Infection Prevention Nurse to support workforce wellness, occupational health, and infection prevention initiatives within a healthcare setting. This role is responsible for promoting employee health and safety, monitoring infection control practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting prevention strategies that protect both staff and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Health:

• Manage employee health programs including onboarding clearances, immunizations, TB screening, fit testing, and return-to-work processes.
• Maintain confidential employee health records and documentation.
• Coordinate post-exposure evaluations, follow-up care, and required reporting.
• Educate staff on workplace safety, wellness, and occupational health guidelines.
• Monitor compliance with required vaccinations, screenings, and health requirements.
• Collaborate with HR, leadership, and department managers regarding employee health matters.

Infection Prevention:

• Conduct infection surveillance, data collection, trending, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections.
• Monitor adherence to infection prevention policies, hand hygiene, PPE use, and isolation protocols.
• Participate in outbreak investigations and implement corrective action plans.
• Educate staff on infection control standards, transmission prevention, and best practices.
• Assist with policy development and updates based on CDC, OSHA, CMS, and state regulations.
• Prepare reports for committees, leadership, and regulatory surveys.
• Support readiness for audits, inspections, and accreditation reviews.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current BLS certification preferred/required based on facility policy.
• Previous experience in Employee Health, Occupational Health, Infection Prevention, Public Health, or Acute Care Nursing preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Infection Prevention ( CIC ) preferred.
• Experience with healthcare regulatory standards and reporting requirements preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CDC, Joint Commission, and CMS standards preferred.
