Job Description and Duties
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development Assignment may also be considered for these positions.
Under the general supervision of the Principal and the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Vocational Instruction (SVI) the Vocational Instructor for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Repair implements the California Department of Corrections (CDCR) learning goals and objectives. Vocational Instructors work within the policies and practices of the Office of Correctional Education, including the implementation of only the approved curriculum. Vocational Instructors are expected to prepare instruction and assessment that is aligned with the policies and regulations of the CDCR Office of Correctional Education, the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, and the partner organizations and associations through which CDCR students receive trade certifications.

Working Conditions
California Correctional Institution is located in the Tehachapi Mountains approximately 325 miles south of Sacramento and approximately 120 miles north of Los Angeles.
CCI is a Multi-level, Sensitive Needs Yard, facility consisting of three (3) facilities, encompassed within a campus style layout with varied terrain. Work in this location may require exposure to varied temperatures dependent upon the season.
