Product Manager Job Description:
The Product Manager is responsible for building, leading, and managing a complex global product portfolio. This includes developing the strategy and business plan, driving new product development, gaining cross functional alignment, and driving the execution of the business plan. This individual will also be responsible for obtaining voice of customer, obtaining voice of employees, and defining the customer value propositions for the various product categories.
The Product Manager acts with an entrepreneurial spirit and manages the portfolio with a General Manager mindset. This role requires strong strategic thinking, data analytics experience, and experience working across the globe. The Product Manager takes responsibility for overall product portfolio leadership to meet sales and gross margin targets. They must closely collaborate with colleagues in Marketing, Sales, Engineering and Operations to deliver the targets.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Meet growth, profitability and return on asset objectives within the product portfolio.
- Plan, lead and manage the entire life of product lines from the identification of market opportunities through design development, product launch, market penetration and growth as well as the end of life phase.
- Manage and drive product portfolio results in any global regions, channels of distribution, market segments and customers that align with the strategy.
- Identification and communication of a business strategy resulting from a thorough understanding of customer and market requirements, the competitive environment and core competencies for each product portfolio.
- Identification and development of new as well as existing applications and products.
- Pricing globally, working with sales management to ensure the appropriate level of pricing in various regions around the world.
- Establish and lead a marketing communication and promotional strategy for the product offerings.
- Provide product as well as application training, including competitive strategies and responses, for all appropriate sales channels.
- Maximize the effective use of existing assets and maximize the return on assets for the product portfolio globally.
- Establish product cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Research and identify acquisition targets for new product offerings.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- Required 5+ years in product management, engineering, technical sales, or related field.
- Preferred advance degree in business or a technology discipline.
- Fluency in English is required, second language or demonstrated international experience is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated skills as a communicator, both orally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Capable of strategically planning future product opportunities and demonstrate strong entrepreneurial skills in translating those plans into commercially successful and profitable product offerings.
- Demonstrated experience in working across organization lines to translate market trends and opportunities into financial business plans.
- Up to 50% travel may be required to meet business objectives.
Salary Description
$100,000-$110,000 per year
