DNV Energy Services USA is seeking a California Statewide Outreach Manager to join our California team, which serves utilities across the state through the implementation of energy efficiency programs. This is a key role helping our district in the management of a distributed team for an innovative new statewide program across California to increase the promotion and sale of efficient water heating technologies.
This position reports to the CA Program Director and is based in the San Diego, Irvine, or Oakland, California office.
What You'll do
- Execute knowledge of California Investor Owned Utility programs, regulations, and geographic service territories
- Responsible for hitting or exceeding program energy efficiency goals
- Develop and set Key Performance Indicator goals and manage program participants to reach goal
- Provide logistical support for marketing/sales meetings and events conducted by junior sales / outreach professionals
- Effectively communicates with internal staff and coordinates education of distributors, trade allies, contractors, and customers about the program
- Plans, facilitates, and leads large meetings, trainings, and PR events
- Holds senior level proficiency in writing / executing sales plans and collaborating with program marketing teams
- Recognizes and demonstrates appropriate application of program policies and procedures

As required by the Pay Transparency laws in Colorado, New York City, California, Washington, and Connecticut, DNV provides a reasonable compensation range for roles that may be hired in those locations. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the states of Colorado, New York City, NY, California, Washington, and Connecticut only, the range of starting pay for this role is $80,000- $110,000
About you
What Is Required
- Bachelor s degree or 12+ years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 5 years in distributor/manufacturer service or sales
- Proven track record of managing a team of outreach/sales professionals
- Proven track record in sales, leads generation, including mentorship of junior sales / outreach professionals
- Expert level knowledge of CRM software for project and lead tracking (e.g., MS Dynamics / Salesforce)
- Skills to leverage collaboration tools, manage workflow and establish effective stakeholder communication
- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite including pivot tables, simple look ups, and data visualizations in Excel
- Proficiency in writing / executing sales plans and collaborating with program marketing teams
- Travel up to 50-75% locally and within California
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record; the ability to travel to and from all appointments in timely and professional manner
- Routine bending, lifting, and reaching consistent with office work
- We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening
What Is Preferred
- Bachelor s degree in related field or Master s degree
- Distributor/manufacturer service or sales experience with a concentration in water heating
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with plumbing and HVAC distributors
- Understanding of established and emerging water heating product lines and technologies in today s market
- Experience in energy efficiency, technical sales, B2B, or construction industry sales
- Understanding or experience with California Utility Program Implementations including upstream, midstream, and downstream channels
- Knowledge of CA Title 20 Efficiency requirements, and AHRI certifications
