McCormick Barstow LLP has an opening for a litigation secretary to work in the Business Litigation group in our Fresno office.
Qualified candidates must be detail-oriented, have strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and heavy calendaring. Should be able to prioritize and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities will include administrative office duties as well as opening and processing of mail, calendaring, filing, scheduling depositions, preparation of client correspondence, processing of vendor bills, preparation of pleadings and discovery.
Preferred work experience would include:
- 2+ years of previous legal secretary work.
- Ability to type 65+ wpm;
- Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written form;
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, address immediate concerns and manage expectations;
- Excellent word processing skills utilizing Microsoft Word, iManage, CompuLaw and Excel;
- Experience with e-filings with state and federal courts, trial preparation;
- Basic knowledge of legal terminology.
