Project Accountant

Ratcliff is an industry leader in the planning and design of healthcare, academic, and civic projects throughout Northern California. We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background in the architecture industry. Reporting directly to our Accounting Manager, this position will work closely with Principals and Project Managers to manage and monitor the financial status of the firms’ projects. This is a strategic hire with opportunities for growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Full accounting functions of accounts payable, invoicing, accounts receivable and cash controls.
• Meet with Principals/Project Managers to prepare, review and send client invoices in accordance with contract terms.
• Monitor financial performance of multiple projects.
• Collaborate with project managers to assess financial risks and opportunities.
• Account analysis and managing journal entries related to project activities.
• Responsible for tracking project cost, budgets and contracts to ensure complete alignment of each.
• Maintain accurate contract documentation, administration and budget within accounting software.
• Support multiple principals, project managers and staff daily.
• Complete all tasks ensuring high accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ professional accounting experience in the architecture, engineering or construction industry.
• Associate degree or accreditation from a certified business school.
• Full cycle accounting experience including client billings, accounts payable, accounts receivable, project accounting.
• Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
• Strong desire to learn the inter-working of Deltek Vantagepoint in order to become the software administrator.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
• Proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft Suite applications.
