Litigation & Transactional Legal Assistant (Floater)

Our client is seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team in a floater capacity , providing critical support across both litigation and transactional practices. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys variety in their work, and is eager to support attorneys on high-impact matters.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys across multiple practice areas
  • Prepare, edit, format, and compare legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and correspondence
  • Manage court filings and assist with discovery processes
  • Support transactional matters, including closing documents and binders
  • Draft shells for pleadings and other legal filings
  • Coordinate client onboarding, conflicts checks, and billing setup
  • Enter and review attorney time entries and assist with billing compliance
  • Maintain and organize matter files, databases, and records
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and process expense reports
  • Manage competing priorities and workflows to meet deadlines

What You Bring:

  • 3+ years of professional experience (law firm or similar environment preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and legal software (e.g., NetDocs, InTapp, Chrome River)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to support multiple attorneys and manage shifting priorities
  • Understanding of legal terminology and processes (litigation experience strongly preferred)
  • Professional, adaptable, and proactive mindset with a willingness to learn
