AP Specialist

Job Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure accurate and timely payments
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
• Review vendor statements and be able to research and resolve any discrepancies
• Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any payment or invoice issues
• Provide support for audits and other financial reporting requirements
• Assist in preparing accounts payable related reports for management
• Assist in purchasing supplies and make payment on purchases
• Maintain department's files to ensure they remain accessible when needed by Company personnel or outside auditors
• Assist in general accounts reconciliations, including bank statements, petty cash accounts, credit card accounts, fixed assets, employer's benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities accounts and others
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Manage accounts payable related tasks assigned by the Accounting Manager
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accounts payable processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role (Preferred)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficient in using accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks (Preferred)
• Experience with general ledger accounting (Preferred)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of debits, credits, account reconciliation, and technical accounting is highly desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
