Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pain Management Duration: 25 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Acute Care License: Active RN license in California Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS Must-Have: - Ability to float to other facilities - Ambulatory/Outpatient Clinic experience preferred Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Pain Management. The nurse will work in an outpatient pain clinic. Patients include adolescents and adults. The daily census is approximately 30 patients with 30 visits per day. The clinic is staffed by RNs, medical assistants, and radiology technologists. Procedures performed in the clinic include epidurals, peripheral nerve blocks, and trigger point injections. The nurse will administer ketamine and lidocaine infusions for chronic pain and treatment-resistant depression. Moderate sedation is required for many procedures. The role includes collaborating with interdisciplinary support such as radiology and pharmacy. Must have experience in acute care, critical care, PACU, or procedural sedation. Knowledge of pain management procedures and safety protocols is essential. The ability to maintain patient safety and monitor vital signs during procedures is required. The nurse will perform medication reconciliation and follow up with patients as necessary. Wearing lead aprons for up to 8 hours a day is necessary due to the nature of procedures. Flexibility to float to other departments may be required. All candidates must have prior teaching hospital experience.
