About Us

The Broad Street Oyster Co. brand began in 2017 when founder, Christopher Tompkins, would set up a tent and a Coleman camping grill throughout Southern California in order to sell oysters, sea urchin and lobster rolls for pop-ups, events and outside busy businesses up and down the coast. After the success of his pop-ups Tompkins decided to put down permanent roots at the restaurant space within Malibu Village boasting nearly floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook Malibu Lagoon. Christopher has made Broad Street a destination in Malibu for pristine, locally sourced oysters, lobster rolls and other New England inspired classics.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment and storage areas.

• Ensure all food items are prepared in a timely and efficient manner.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.

• Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking supplies.
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.

• Participate in daily kitchen opening and closing procedures.
• Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.

Qualifications :

• Previous experience in a back-of-house or kitchen role is preferred but not required.

• Strong understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
• Positive attitude and a passion for the culinary arts.
