The Position

Our client is seeking to fill an SBA Loan Underwriter (Bilingual – Korean) role to be based in the greater Los Angeles, CA market. This position is responsible for underwriting SBA 7a and 504 loans. The candidate will gather financial/borrower information, analyze complex financial and credit information, underwrite loan requests, recommend credit actions, prepares credit memorandums and coordinates activity in support of the credit process.

This position comes with a generous salary of up to $88K, full benefits and maybe bonus eligible. (This is not a remote position.)

SBA Loan Underwriter responsibilities include:

• Must be Bilingual – Korean.
• Underwriting SBA loans in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
• Must be proficient in both SBA 7a and SBA 504 programs.
• Delivering excellent service to customers both inside and outside the Bank.
• Providing frequent communication to all parties involved in transactions in a positive and constructive manner.
• Effectively managing the process to ensure loan requests are being reviewed efficiently, that customers receive timely answers, and that approved transactions are completed quickly and accurately.
• Providing guidance and training to team members involved in processing and funding of loans.
• Ensuring all loans comply with regulatory requirements.
• Maintaining knowledge of company underwriting and lending guidelines and provide input to guidelines when requested.
• Reviewing and signing off all underwriting conditions in a timely manner.
• Ensuring proper pre-funding quality control steps are taken on all loans.
• Responsible for adhering to and complying with all Bank policies and Federal and State banking laws and regulations.

• BS Degree required.
• Minimum of three years of SBA 7a and 504 loan underwriting experience.
• Formal credit training is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written skills.
• Ability to underwrite and handle a large volume of loans.
