Bartender
Brick Lane is a new Indian Restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles. This new concept is a delightful mix of traditional Indian flavors and fresh California influence. The atmosphere is elevated and polished yet approachable with warm, welcoming hospitality. We are looking to build a dynamic team of hospitality professionals to spearhead this exciting new endeavor.
Job Summary: Our bartenders are responsible for providing friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience. They must be engaged, and provide prompt, courteous and efficient food and beverage service where attention to detail is key. This will require welcoming guests into the space, discussing our menu and concept in detail, taking food and beverage orders, crafting balanced cocktails, assisting with wine service, ensuring our products and standards are being upheld to the highest degree, cleaning/resetting the bar top, handling various payments, and wishing our guests fond goodbyes.
Responsibilities:
- Consistent and punctual attendance
- Advanced communication skills both in person and in written communications
- Maintain food handling procedures outlined by the front of house management team and SafeServe guidelines
- Thorough knowledge of menu descriptions and ingredients
- Offer suggestions by using suggestive selling techniques for both food and beverage
- A passion for hospitality and service
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with crew members and members of our community
- Using thoughtful creativity to enhance the guests’ experience by connecting with all guests
- Implementation of service standards and systems
- Cleaning, maintaining and displaying bar equipment
- Ensure that all orders are accurate and delivered in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work areas and equipment.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow team members as situations arise.
- Completing side work which may include polishing glassware and plateware, folding linens, restocking beverage and service items, sweeping, sanitizing of surfaces, washing tools and organizing inventory.
- Ensure guest satisfaction upon the entrance of our restaurant to their exit
- Maintaining legal requirements of alcohol service
- Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate
- Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintaining an incredibly organized work and storage areas with the ability to lift all required products at a minimum of 50lbs.
- Maintaining a safe and positive work environment
- Maintaining cleanly personal hygiene in and out of the workplace
- Assisting the front desk when needed
- Running and describing food to our patrons

Required Experience:
- A passion for food, exceptional work ethic and dedication
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a bartending position with a full bar program
- Previous POS system experience
- Must have excellent knowledge of dining room and service procedures
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Open availability; must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Conversational English vocabulary
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Strong team-minded approach to coworkers
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong organizational skills
