Pre-K Academic Tutor (Autism Support - Foundational Literacy & Math Skills)

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Los Angeles, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Los Angeles, CA
• Schedule: 10 hours a month, 2x a week for 1hr15mins
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with young learners (Pre-K–Kindergarten) and students with Autism or developmental delays .
• Knowledge of early childhood education, foundational literacy and math development, and behavior support strategies.
• Background in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field preferred.
• Patient, encouraging, and able to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction in Foundational Literacy Skills (letter recognition, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, early writing) and Foundational Math Skills (number sense, counting, sorting, shapes, and simple patterns).
• Conduct an academic assessment to determine the student’s current performance levels and identify priority learning areas.
• Develop and implement structured lesson plans tailored to the student’s learning needs and IEP goals.
• Use visual supports, hands-on activities, and positive reinforcement to promote engagement and learning.
• Support the development of early attention, communication, and self-regulation skills.
• Maintain consistent routines and transitions to reduce frustration and increase participation.
