Legal Assistant (Whittier)

Career Consulting Partners is partnered with a small plaintiff PI firm in Whittier, California. We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and empathetic Case Manager Assistant / Legal Assistant to join the Plaintiff Personal Injury team. In this role, you will be the right hand to our Case Managers, ensuring our injured clients receive top-tier support and that their cases move seamlessly from intake through the pre-litigation phase. Responsibilities:

• Request, follow up on, retrieve, and organize medical records and itemized billing statements from providers.

• Conduct regular "treatment check-ins" with clients to monitor their medical status, update their files, and offer a supportive ear during their recovery.

• Open new insurance claims (property damage, bodily injury, PIP/MedPay), send representation letters to adjusters, and confirm policy limits.

• Keep our Case Management Software (CMS) meticulously updated with treatment milestones, provider information, and communication logs.

• Help request final balances and health insurance liens (Medicare, Medicaid, private health) as cases near the settlement phase.

• Assist the Case Manager in preparing comprehensive demand packages for attorney review.

Requirements:

• 1–2 years of experience in a law firm or medical office environment is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with strong administrative roots.

• Proficiency with case management software (e.g., Filevine, Clio, Litify, or Needle) and standard office suites (Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace).

• High empathy and patience. Our clients are hurt and stressed; you must be comfortable communicating with compassion.

• The ability to juggle dozens of requests simultaneously without letting medical bills or client updates slip through the cracks.

• Fluency in Spanish or another second language is highly valued.
