Social Media Manager

A2O Entertainment is a Global Culture and Technology Enterprise led by Producer Soo Man Lee, the founder of K-Pop (SM Entertainment).

The Social Media Manager will spearhead the digital presence of a leading K-pop entertainment company based in the United States, with a focus on creating engaging, trend-driven content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. This role requires a passionate K-pop fan with a deep understanding of the genres artists, fan culture, and U.S. market dynamics. The Social Media Manager will develop strategies to amplify artist visibility, foster fan engagement, and stay ahead of the latest social media trends to drive brand growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Develop and execute creative, platform-specific content (e.g., TikTok videos, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts) that showcases K-pop artists, their music, and behind-the-scenes moments, aligning with current social media trends.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on TikTok trends, challenges, and algorithms, as well as emerging platforms and features, to ensure content remains relevant and viral-ready.
  • Fan Engagement: Interact with U.S. K-pop fans through comments, live streams, and fan-driven campaigns, fostering a strong, loyal community and amplifying fanbase growth.
  • Strategy Development: Craft and implement social media strategies to promote artist releases, tours, and merchandise, tailored to the U.S. K-pop audiences preferences and behaviors.
  • Artist Collaboration: Work closely with artists, management, and creative teams to create authentic content that reflects the artists personalities and resonates with fans.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Monitor social media performance using tools like TikTok Analytics, Instagram Insights, and Sprout Social, providing reports on engagement, reach, and campaign effectiveness to optimize future strategies.
  • Campaign Management: Plan and execute paid social media campaigns, including TikTok ads and Instagram promotions, to boost visibility for new releases or events.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Ensure content respects K-pops cultural roots while appealing to the diverse U.S. fanbase, navigating fan dynamics (e.g., stan culture, fan events) with tact and enthusiasm.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Collaborate with marketing, PR, and video production teams to align social media efforts with broader promotional campaigns, such as album launches or U.S. tours.

Skills and Qualifications

  • K-pop Passion: Avid K-pop fan with in-depth knowledge of artists, groups, fandoms, and U.S. fan culture (e.g., fan chants, fan cams, stan Twitter dynamics).
  • Social Media Expertise: Proven experience (2-4 years preferred) managing social media accounts, with a strong focus on TikTok and proficiency in Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter/X.
  • Trend Awareness: Keen understanding of TikTok trends, viral challenges, and social media algorithms, with the ability to adapt quickly to new features and platforms.
  • Content Creation Skills: Proficiency in creating engaging short-form videos, including basic editing (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush), graphic design (e.g., Canva), and storytelling.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to craft compelling captions, engage with fans, and collaborate with internal teams.
  • Analytics Proficiency: Experience using analytics tools (e.g., TikTok Analytics, Google Analytics, Hootsuite) to track performance and inform strategy.
  • Cultural Awareness: Understanding of K-pops global influence and the ability to tailor content for the U.S. market while respecting Korean cultural elements.
  • Time Management: Ability to juggle multiple campaigns, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to the fast-paced nature of social media and artist schedules.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in social media management.

Additional Requirements

  • Fan Dynamics: Familiarity with U.S. K-pop fan behaviors, such as fan-organized events, streaming parties, and social media trends specific to K-pop fandoms.
  • Language Skills (optional): Basic knowledge of Korean is a plus for understanding artist content or collaborating with Korean teams, but not required.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing successful social media campaigns, particularly on TikTok, with examples of K-pop or music-related content preferred.
