Technical Recruiter - AI/Research (San Francisco)

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Technical Recruiter for a confidential, venture-backed artificial intelligence startup client. This is a full-time, onsite role based in San Francisco, California.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Technical Recruiter will play a critical role in scaling high-impact engineering and research teams within a cutting-edge AI startup environment. This individual will own full-cycle recruiting while partnering closely with leadership to build strategic talent pipelines and hiring roadmaps. This is a highly visible, high-impact opportunity to directly influence company growth and team composition at an early stage.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles across engineering and AI research functions
• Build and execute creative sourcing strategies targeting top talent from startup and AI ecosystems
• Develop high-conversion, personalized outreach to engage passive candidates
• Manage a seamless, high-touch candidate experience from initial outreach through offer
• Track pipeline metrics and continuously optimize recruiting processes and tools

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience recruiting in startup, high-growth tech, or AI-focused environments
• Proven success sourcing and closing highly competitive technical talent
• Strong ability to build talent pipelines and develop strategic hiring plans
• Genuine interest in AI, emerging technologies, and fast-paced startup environments

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This position offers a highly competitive base salary of $200,000–$250,000 , along with equity opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package including fully covered healthcare, retirement options, and generous paid time off.
