We have an opening for an Alarms Deferred Maintenance Supervisor to supervise and coordinate a skilled trades crew engaged in the installation, repair, fabrication, operation, and maintenance of fire alarms and emergency voice alarm systems, emergency lights and sprinkler systems in support of the Laboratory's Fire and Alarms Life Safety Systems and Infrastructure. You will provide advanced technical support, solve complex technical problems, and exercise advanced decision-making utilizing and adhering to established guidelines and procedures. This position is in the Emergency Management Department, Alarms Division. This position may require work at Site 300 located in Tracy, California. Pay Range $58.68 - $72.85 Hourly Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity. We have an opening for an Alarms Deferred Maintenance Supervisor to supervise and coordinate a skilled trades crew engaged in the installation, repair, fabrication, operation, and maintenance of fire alarms and emergency voice alarm systems, emergency lights and sprinkler systems in support of the Laboratory's Fire and Alarms Life Safety Systems and Infrastructure. You will provide advanced technical support, solve complex technical problems, and exercise advanced decision-making utilizing and adhering to established guidelines and procedures. This position is in the Emergency Management Department, Alarms Division. This position may require work at Site 300 located in Tracy, California. You will Provide supervision and leadership to coordinate a skilled trades crew engaged in the installation, repair, fabrication, operation and maintenance of site-wide fire alarms and emergency voice alarm systems, emergency lights and sprinkler systems, including set work priorities and schedule work assignments, oversee Deferred Maintenance budget, train staff, resolve personnel issues, and complete performance appraisals. Oversee and ensure major modifications, maintenance, repair, and regulatory compliance of specialized Life Safety Systems, computer-controlled interfaces, specialized detection systems, fire alarm and fan control panels, fire suppression systems, emergency and general use voice systems, criticality alarms systems and refrigerant/oxygen monitors, emergency lights and sprinkler systems, including Fire and Emergency Voice Alarm design controls, engineering planning and decision process. Lead the set up and operation of intricate systems and electronic equipment such as fire alarm and emergency voice paging systems, emergency lights and sprinkler systems, refrigerant monitors, and data gathering panels in accordance with established program procedures. Interpret specifications from complex technical blueprints, diagrams, specifications, software and system programs, schematics, and operation/product manuals, and utilize standard electrician and maintenance technician tools of the trade. Provide in-depth analysis and evaluation of complex technical electronics data utilizing computer-based data acquisition and controls to report results, evaluate test procedures, determine circuit requirements, establish guidelines, and develop applications software. Analyze data, prepare, and present project estimates, technical and supervisory reports, including review, interpret, write, and document Fire and Alarms Life Safety Systems test results to identify and resolve complex technical problems, report results, and recommend solutions. Ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards, including ES&H, safety, security, program, and Laboratory policies and personnel procedures. Interact with facility and program managers, senior management, inspectors, ES&H technicians, contractors, other crafts personnel, technical and administrative personnel, vendors, and act as point of contact for regulatory agencies. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship. Extensive technical experience and in-depth knowledge of Installation of the Fire and Alarms Life Safety Systems, including low voltage, and/or industrial electronics, Emergency Voice Alarm, Fire Sprinkler Systems, analog and digital electronics technology, electronic controls and interlocks, multi-meters and other electronic test equipment associated with testing and troubleshooting electronic and/or electrical circuits. Experience supervising a skilled trades crew, including workload scheduling, workforce utilization, budget oversight, interpretation and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, disciplinary actions, and performance appraisals. Experience submitting estimates, determining work scope, and Davis Bacon determinations. Advanced knowledge and experience with application of Safety policies and regulations, work control process, NEC/NFPA codes and standards. Ability to make independent decisions and analyze complex low voltage/or electronics data to resolve complex problems. Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through, including demonstrated written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with all levels of management, technical, program and administrative personnel. Experience using personal computers and related software, such as Fire and Alarms micro-controller, Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs), Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. A valid California driver's license required and ability to work a flexible schedule, call backs and overtime, and shift or weekends in all buildings and areas of Site 200 and 300 to accomplish goals. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, be medically qualified to wear protective equipment, and work in confined spaces. Qualifications We Desire Associate degree in electronics, computer maintenance, electro optics or equivalent combination of related technology education and experience. Experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance on electronic systems and fire sprinkler systems. Specific knowledge or equipment manufacturer certification such as: Siemens, Ansul, Kidde, Fenwal, Notifier, Wheelock and related tools training. Knowledge of LLNL policies and procedures. Knowledge of ALSS, Alarms DM Applications and EAM. CA Electrical or Electrical Contractors License. Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. Situated on 7,000 acres in rural foothills approximately six miles southwest of downtown Tracy and 15 miles southeast of Livermore, Site 300 hosts approximately 200 employees with expertise in such fields as engineering, chemistry, biology, and environmental restoration. Employees assigned to work at Site 300 may be exposed to the organism that causes San Joaquin Valley Fever (coccidioidomycosis).
