Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Product Owner with deep experience in the financial services domain . This role focuses on modernizing enterprise-grade advisor billing systems and data platforms . The ideal candidate will bring a blend of product management expertise , data fluency , and strong stakeholder engagement skills -including regular interaction with EVP/SVP-level leadership . Experience with advisor fee billing is a plus, but a finance background is required .

Key Responsibilities

• Operate as a hands-on Product Owner with the ability to work independently-no Business Analyst support provided.
• Translate complex financial business logic into clear, data-driven requirements and documentation.
• Create data mapping artifacts , process flows, and system diagrams using tools like Lucidchart, Miro, or Visio .
• Collaborate directly with stakeholders including finance, operations, and engineering to align on data functionality and system behavior.
• Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives using JIRA .
• Drive large-scale data platform and billing system migrations , working with multiple cross-functional teams.
• Understand, query, and work closely with database structures , applying data analytics where needed to interpret business rules.
• Ensure product documentation is comprehensive and implementation-ready for technical teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in financial services or fintech in a Product Owner or equivalent role.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with EVP/SVP-level stakeholders and manage executive alignment.
• Strong technical foundation -must be comfortable working with databases, data flows, and structured queries.
• Experience with data mapping, analytics, and reconciliation .
• Proficiency in JIRA and strong familiarity with Agile software development practices.
• Experience using Lucidchart, Miro, Visio , or similar tools for diagramming and workflow documentation.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in advisor fee billing is a plus ; finance domain experience is required .
