Maintenance Technician
Summary:
The Maintenance Technician ensures the smooth operation and upkeep of facilities and equipment. This role combines technical expertise with problem-solving skills to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and general maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Technician will work with tools, handle refrigeration systems, perform light electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs, conduct light carpentry tasks, maintain plants, and assist with floor installation. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and effective communication skills to coordinate maintenance efforts and resolve issues efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular preventative maintenance tasks on tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
- Conduct inspections and repairs on refrigeration systems, identifying and resolving issues to maintain proper temperature and functionality.
- Handle light electrical and mechanical repairs, troubleshoot problems, and make necessary adjustments or replacements.
- Check in with stores and other locations to assess maintenance needs, address any reported issues, and ensure a clean and well-maintained environment.
- Assist with light carpentry tasks, including repairs, installations, and modifications to furniture, fixtures, and structures.
- Maintain and care for plants, including watering, pruning, and replanting as needed.
- Perform floor installation and repairs, ensuring proper preparation, measurement, and installation techniques are followed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe working environment for self and others.
- Utilize and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles assigned for maintenance duties.
- Document all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements, accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance efforts and resolve issues efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- A High school diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- 2+ years of maintenance experience. Preferably in Refrigeration, Maintenance, Construction, or Real Estate related industries.
- Knowledge of building management and maintenance operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Excel/Word/Outlook, Gmail, and Google Suite.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to be results-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and adhere to constant and challenging deadlines.
- Able to work independently and with a team with accuracy.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Physical Requirements:
- This job may require standing or walking for extended periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive motions.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including but not limited to knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
Working Conditions:
- This job is performed in an environment that may have exposure to heat, noise, and other environmental factors associated with food production.
Position Details:
- Employment Type: Full Time.
- Location: 2931 Faber St, Union City, CA 94587.
- Travel: 70% - 80%, primarily within the Bay Area, Sacramento, and Folsom.
- Available to work on weekends and holidays as necessary.

Compensation:
The pay range for this job is between $25 - $30 per hour. This is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
