Adjunct Faculty Position – Criminal Justice Department

Compensation: $850 - $1,000 per credit, based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience)
Position Overview:
NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach in NHTI’s Criminal Justice program. NHTI's Criminal Justice degree program teaches students field basics and the rules of criminal procedure and criminal law. Students learn about specialty fields from juvenile justice to corrections operations to police-community relations in justice and the community and will be taught by professionals who have spent time as practitioners in the field.

Course Description: Offers the student the opportunity to put learned theory to practical application. The student is responsible for seeking out the agency placement with the assistance of the course instructor. The internship requires the completion of a mandatory minimum number of hours. A log is kept and the final grade is based on a combination of the log, supervising agency assessment, and final analytical report.

- Course Description: Through ongoing and individualized contact with the supervising instructor, the student develops a topic pre-approved through a prospectus. The student may develop any topic raised in any major class and is not limited by category. Empirical studies, surveys, and literature reviews are among the acceptable categories of research. The final grade is determined by a review of the final product and the extent to which the student has followed the course guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
- Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
- Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience: Prior teaching experience and familiarity with Canvas (or similar LMS) preferred.
- Residency: Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT.
