Railroad Switch Manufacturing Company:

Headquartered in Grass Valley, CA, Apex Rail Automation (Apex) manufacturers products for the railroads including main line switches, yard switches, rods and layouts, wayside electronics, dark territory switch control and solutions such as the Modular Yard Automation (MYA) system. The company supplies products and systems primarily to freight railroads, particularly Class 1 railroads (CSX, BNSF, UP, etc.).

Receiving / Warehouse

Seeking full-time personnel for warehouse/receiving position. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations.

This job requires an employee who is motivated, efficient, and able to learn and perform multiple job functions. These functions may require repetitive or detailed activities in a production environment.

Essential Duties:

• Receive inbound shipments from suppliers and carriers
• Verify packing slips vs. purchase orders
• Inspect materials for damage, quantity, and specification compliance
• Record receipts in ERP/MRP systems (Fishbowl)
• Label and tag materials with part numbers, lot numbers, or barcodes
• Route materials to inspection, stock, or production staging areas
• Coordinate with quality control for incoming inspection
• Perform cycle counts and physical inventories
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
• Maintain inventory location accuracy
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment
• Pick and deliver kits or components to production
• Return unused materials to stock
• Manage line-side inventory replenishment
• Maintain warehouse organization and safety standards

Other Responsibilities:

Must be 18y rs old

• Entry to Mid level
• Drug free (must pass pre-employment background and drug screening)
• Clean driving record / valid CDL
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Must be able to communicate effectively
• Detail-oriented
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instruction
• Willingness to learn shipping procedures / light data entry
• Previous UPS/FedEx shipping experience preferred (but not required).

Education:

• High school degree
