The role focuses on Linux kernel, boot firmware, and low-level libraries, collaborating with hardware and software teams to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and security. This role also includes optimizing existing software and enabling new architectural features.\n\nTechnical Skills and Expertise\n\n * Deep understanding of computer architecture concepts, including high-performance designs, weak memory models, server platforms, and the hardware/software interface\n\n * Proficiency in C, assembly language, and build systems\n\n * Experience in systems programming with Python or similar languages\n\n * Familiarity with distributed version control systems and modern software development best practices\n\n * Expertise in developing software virtual platforms, low-level boot firmware, and debugging tools in pre-silicon and on hardware\n\n * Experience building to platform standards, including UEFI, ACPI, and SystemReady\n\n\n\n\nRole and Responsibilities\n\n * Assist in defining future high-performance SoCs and platforms\n\n * Collaborate with the performance team to identify hardware optimization areas\n\n * Create optimizations and drivers for high-performance platforms\n\n * Ensure existing operating systems run efficiently and identify opportunities for performance enhancements\n\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. \n \n\u2022 4+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Master\u2019s degree in Engineering or Computer Science\n\n * 15+ years of experience building software stacks for high-performance systems\n\n * 10+ years building software stacks for high-performance systems\n\n * 10+ years of Linux kernel development experience\n\n\n\n\n### \n\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities\n\n * Autonomy: Work independently with minimal supervision\n\n * Communication: Use verbal and written skills to convey complex information to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and large groups\n\n * Influence: Have a notable impact on key organizational decisions by providing input to senior leadership\n\n * Task Management: Execute multi-step tasks requiring simultaneous cognitive abilities and memory management\n\n * Innovation: Exercise exceptional creativity to develop new ideas and innovative products or processes\n\n * Problem Solving: Use deductive and inductive reasoning to solve complex problems with advanced data analysis and interpretation\n\n\n\n\nQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
