What We Do
We build Calm’s product, guide Calm’s analysis, secure Calm’s data, and operate the platforms that underpin it all. We’re product-minded, team-oriented, and grounded in the mission of making the world a happier and healthier place. We work closely with every part of Calm from Legal to Customer Experience, and partner on every initiative from content launches to B2B.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior iOS Engineer at Calm, you’ll build and improve the features that help millions of people live happier, healthier lives. You'll work closely with designers, product managers, and data scientists to craft smooth, engaging mobile experiences that attract and retain users. Your work will directly shape the future of Calm’s iOS app and contribute to meaningful user engagement.
In this role, you will
- Develop new features to enhance user experience, improve engagement, and drive business growth
- Own technical projects from ideation to release, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability
- Collaborate across teams (Product, Design, Android, Backend) to align on goals and implement best practices
- Improve app performance by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing code, and refining UI interactions
- Stay up-to-date with iOS technologies, contributing ideas and improvements to Calm’s mobile ecosystem
- Ensure quality and stability through rigorous testing, debugging, and performance monitoring
- Optimize deployment workflows, contributing to CI/CD pipelines and automating key development processes

Who You Are
- 5+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in iOS/Swift development
- Experience building iOS apps in Swift and SwiftUI
- Launched apps in the app store
- Proficiency with Xcode tools for debugging and performance optimization
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and MVVM architecture
- Familiarity with backend technologies (Node.js, Go, Python, etc.) is a plus
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI) to automate testing and deployment
- A product-focused mindset, ensuring technology aligns with business goals and user needs

Calm uses a geographic pay model that determines salaries based on the location where an employee lives. For this position, the base pay range across Calm’s pay tiers is as follows: $159,000 - $259,700. The base pay range represents the low and high end of Calm’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.
Calm uses employee zip code to determine which pay range applies.
This role is also eligible for equity + comprehensive benefits + 401k + flexible time off.
