The Team & Role
Zuoras Payments team is at the center of our strategy to enable customers to maximize revenue and minimize risk in the Subscription Economy. Payments are no longer just a back-office function but a strategic lever for growth, customer experience, and operational efficiency. As Director of Payments Product Management , you will lead a team driving Zuoras payments roadmap; everything related to payments gateway and payment method coverage, orchestration, merchant experiences, operations, and optimization. You will set product vision, align closely with engineering, Go-To-Market, and strategic partners to ensure that Zuora continues to evolve as an AI-forward, performance-driven payments platform.
This is a high-visibility role with direct impact on company growth and customer outcomes. You will partner with executive leadership to establish strategic direction, ensure operational effectiveness, and cascade goals across your team of PMs. You will reconcile multiple stakeholder views to drive business results and balance customer needs, business priorities, and technical feasibility.
This is a location specific position that requires you to come into the office regularly to be most effective.
What youll do
- Establish and drive the Payments product strategy, aligning with company objectives and market opportunities.
- Lead and grow a high-performing team of product managers, setting clear outcomes and ensuring accountability.
- Partner with enterprise merchants, sales, and account teams to gather use cases and translate them into impactful product features.
- Build and execute on the product roadmap for payment processing, enabling merchant success and reducing friction.
- Partner with engineering, business analytics, finance, program management, legal, and external banking/network partners to deliver features collaboratively and inclusively.
- Ensure payment products meet global compliance and regulatory requirements (PCI-DSS, PSD2, etc.) while supporting innovation.
- Drive prioritization decisions through clearly defined goals, metrics, and KPIs.
- Own Zuoras payment APIs and approval rate analytics, improving transaction performance and routing strategies.
- Deliver new capabilities for merchant onboarding, integration, checkout flows, tokenization, fraud controls, and card network interactions.
- Expand Zuoras reach by launching payment products in multiple geographies and supporting adoption across our customer base.
Your experience
- 10+ years in product management, with at least 5 years leading payments-related products (orchestration, gateways, fraud, processing, collections, AR automation).
- Prior experience with card processing, 3DS, CIT/MIT frameworks, tokenization, and payment networks.
- Proven experience in transaction cost analysis and initiatives to reduce processing expense.
- Skilled in customer-centric product development, translating enterprise merchant needs into scalable solutions.
- Strong ownership and execution track record, including launching products with external network and banking partners.
- Hands-on experience improving checkout flows, managing SDKs, and merchant-facing payment solutions.
- Familiarity with PCI-DSS, digital wallets, and no-code platforms.
- Deep knowledge of approval rate optimization, routing, and payments analytics.
- Technical fluency with REST APIs, microservices, and client-server models.
Nice to haves:
- Experience in SaaS, B2B, or subscription-focused companies.
- Exposure to AI-driven optimization, fraud prevention, or fintech innovation.
- Experience scaling partner ecosystems and revenue-sharing models.
- Knowledge of post-processing workflows including disputes, settlement, and reporting.

The base pay details represent the annualized salary range for the posted position. While we share a comprehensive range, a candidates final base salary will fall within these guidelines and will be determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to: qualifications of the candidate, job related knowledge, prior related experience, specific and unique skills, the location of the role, internal equity and internal budget.
