HR Generalist
Job Summary
A manufacturing company in Fontana, CA is seeking a bilingual English and Spanish HR Generalist for a Temp-to-Hire opportunity. This onsite role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys supporting employees, maintaining compliance, coordinating HR processes, and partnering with leadership in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities - Provide professional and responsive HR support to employees, supervisors, management, payroll, temporary agencies, and outside partners.- Maintain accurate employee files, online personnel records, compliance documentation, HRIS data, and HR tracking reports.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, employee conversions, new hire orientation, I-9 verification, work authorization tracking, and job description updates.
- Assist with employee relations processes including terminations, employment verifications, garnishments, EDD requests, benefits questions, legal document requests, and HR-related training.
- Administer leave of absence processes, coordinate updates with third-party administrators, track LOA reports, confirm return-to-duty requirements, and update HRIS records.
- Support employee recognition programs, service awards, retirements, employee events, COVID-19 tracking, and workers compensation coordination with the Safety team. Compensation and Benefits - Pay Rate: $30.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on experience and education.
- Job Type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Schedule: 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Provide day-to-day HR support for employees, managers, payroll, temporary agencies, and third-party administrators.- Maintain compliant employee records, HRIS data, reporting, personnel files, and required documentation.
- Support onboarding, I-9 verification, employee conversions, benefits enrollment, terminations, and HR compliance processes.
- Administer leave of absence tracking, employee communication, return-to-duty requirements, and related HRIS updates. - Bilingual English and Spanish required.
- 3 or more years of prior Human Resources experience required.
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Oracle systems.
- General knowledge of employment laws, HR documentation requirements, compliance practices, and employee file retention.
- Excellent organizational, time management, analytical, communication, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work independently under general direction while managing competing priorities and changing expectations.
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build rapport with employees and management.
- High level of confidentiality, good judgment, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to problem solve, interpret policies and procedures, gather and analyze information, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Team-oriented approach with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications - Prior HR experience in a manufacturing, distribution, production, or similar fast-paced environment.
- Experience coordinating with temporary staffing agencies.
- Experience supporting leave of absence, workers compensation, employee benefits, onboarding, and HRIS data maintenance.
