Job Coach Retail

NCI Affiliates is a respected non-profit organization with nearly 50 years of service on California’s Central Coast, dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. As a Job Coach Retail, you will play a vital role in supporting and training adults with disabilities at our Thrift Stores in Atascadero and Paso Robles. This part-time position is part of the "Braided Day" program, offering a unique blend of hands-on vocational training and community-based skill-building activities. This role is Full Time, variable days at both our Paso Robles and Atascadero locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing instruction and support to adults with disabilities, focusing on developing vocational skills tailored to individual goals and abilities.
• Assist participants in achieving personal and professional objectives within a retail environment.
• Monitor and help fulfill contract requirements to ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
• Follow internal procedures, including preparing daily cash records, inventory records, and cash receipt deposits.
• Adapt to the needs of different groups and learn the operations of multiple store locations as needed.
• Serve as a positive role model and instructor, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all participants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid California driver's license (driving required for this position)
• Reliable transportation to work
• Ability to pass a background check
• Basic computer and technology skills
• Customer service experience
• Patience, compassion, and the ability to serve as a role model for adults with disabilities
• Flexibility with work schedules and ability to adapt to changing needs
• Preferred retail and experience with the population we serve!

Compensation

$23.00 – $25.00 per hour, depending on experience. Starting pay is $23.00 per hour.
