Software Engineer

Synthego was founded to revolutionize genome engineering technology, helping translate genomics into the clinic and ultimately making engineered biological therapies accessible to all patients.

Strong integration between manufacturing processes, internally developed hardware and software, and vendor solutions enables Synthego to produce highest-quality CRISPR guide RNA and advanced oligonucleotides. Software integrations and solutions span the whole cycle: enabling customers to place orders, enabling factory operations to chemically synthesize and assess quality, and enabling the shipping team to fill and label boxes. The software is developed in close collaboration with a diverse and talented set of colleagues expert in chemistry, commerce, data, hardware, processes, systems and more.

We are looking for an early career software engineer to join the software team and contribute to cross-functional improvements. The new team member will quickly learn and continually deepen their knowledge of biology, chemistry, computer systems, manufacturing, and programming.

This position is remote within the United States, with preference for commuting distance to Redwood City, CA.

What You'll Do:

• Develop software using Python and Django, with a focus on manufacturing and logistics audiences.
• Automate onsite and cloud compute, network, and storage infrastructure.
• Communicate frequently with developers about code and infrastructure.
• Communicate regularly with commercial, manufacturing, and scientific stakeholders to understand problems, design solutions, and ensure the success of changes.

About You:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Python, Git, Linux, and containers
• Excellent writer and speaker
