Senior Staff Accountant

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting operations of our company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining general ledger accounts, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the company's accounting operations, including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements and reports for management, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
• Oversee monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met
• Collaborate with management to develop and maintain financial budgets and forecasts
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and provide support for tax audits
• Train and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed
• Ensure compliance with all accounting and internal controls, and recommend improvements when necessary
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc analysis as assigned by management
• Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and industry standards

  Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis
• CPA certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and other accounting principles
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team player
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite, is a plus
• Knowledge of self-storage industry is a plus
