POSITION SUMMARY:
Focus Interpreting is looking for a qualified English - Spanish Interpreter to join our team in Santa Maria, CA. As an interpreter, you will facilitate effective communication between English and Spanish speakers in various settings, ensuring messages are conveyed accurately and professionally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide interpretation services for meetings, medical appointments, legal hearings, and other interactions involving English and Spanish speakers.
- Ensure clarity and accuracy by applying best practices in interpretation and utilizing appropriate equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards during all assignments.
- Prepare for assignments by familiarizing yourself with specific terminology and the context of interactions.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve language proficiency and understanding of relevant subject matter.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, with excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages.
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity to ensure effective interpretation across different settings.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Prior experience in medical or legal interpretation is preferred.
