Software Engineer, Core Surfaces
It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 50+ million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world's relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.

The Role
The Core Surfaces team is responsible for providing a platform for all other product teams to present information in CashApp. We are responsible for finding the balance between enforcing a framework that makes the app comprehensible to our users, while giving individual product teams maximum flexibility in how they want to represent themselves in the app.
You Will
- Collaborate frequently with a wide number of teams to evolve commonly used frameworks and APIs
- Build a broad understanding of features offered throughout CashApp
- Be responsible for the data quality and uptime of one of the largest datasets at CashApp
- Share insights and feedback on code, design, and proposals, fostering a culture of growth and betterment
You Have
- 5+ years of experience building and operating quality software
- Demonstrated technical initiative in previous projects
- Strong communication skills and customer empathy
- High technical standards in software testing and delivery
- A growth mindset and a healthy comfort with ambiguity
- Bonus: Experience working in a distributed team
