Retail Thrift Store Job Coach

NCI Affiliates is a respected nonprofit organization with nearly 50 years of experience empowering adults with intellectual and physical disabilities on California’s Central Coast. As a Retail Thrift Store Job Coach (Part-Time) at our Atascadero and Paso Robles locations, you will help individuals build valuable job and life skills in a supportive, real-world retail environment. This role is part of our innovative "Braided Day" program, which blends hands-on job coaching with community-based activities. Responsibilities

• Provide individualized job training and on-the-job support to adults with disabilities in a retail thrift store setting
• Assist clients in achieving their vocational and personal development goals
• Support daily store operations, including cash handling, inventory management, and reporting
• Lead community and life-skill building activities as part of the Braided Day program
• Ensure contract tasks are completed accurately and on schedule
• Serve as a positive role model in a diverse and inclusive environment
• Adapt to the varying needs of clients and store operations as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation (driving is required)
• Ability to pass a background check
• Basic technology and computer skills
• Customer service experience
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting others
• Flexible and adaptable mindset

Compensation

$23.00 per hour

• $250 hiring bonus paid in two parts (after 90 and 180 days)
