Job Description and Duties

Vocational Instructors work within the policies and practices of the Office of Correctional Education, including the implementation of only the approved curriculum. Vocational Instructors are expected to prepare instruction and assessments that are aligned with the policies and regulations of the CDCR office of Correctional Education, the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, and the partner organizations and associations through which CDCR students receive trade certifications.

Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
