This position is located in the Veteran Homes Division and is resp onsible for providing analytical and operational support for Future Operations within the Veterans Homes Division (VHD). The position oversees statewide service contracts, sharing agreements, and interagency agreements to ensure compliance, accountability, and cost-effective operations, while providing guidance and support to Home staff.

Special Requirements
Veterans may qualify for a CalVet Veterans Hiring Preference. Military service must be included in the Employment History section of the Employment Applications (STD. 678). The application package must include documentation of discharge, appropriate to the branch of service. The documentation must reflect a discharge/release under conditions other than dishonorable. Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Experience managing or supporting service contracts or agreements, , including monitoring performance and timelines.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience collecting, organizing, and interpreting data to support operations or decision-making.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards, or presentations that communicate complex information clearly to leadership or stakeholders.
- Knowledge of or experience applying policies, procedures, or regulatory requirements in a professional setting.
- Experience creating or maintaining tracking systems, dashboards, logs, or standardized documentation to support accountability and compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Experience identifying issues, risks, or inefficiencies and recommending or implementing practical solutions.
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners, to support program or operational goals.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment and initiative.
- Experience supporting statewide, multi-site, or complex operational programs, or working in a government or highly regulated environment.

The SOQ serves as documentation of your ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. In your SOQ, describe your experience, knowledge, and competencies as they relate to each of the items listed below. The items must be addressed and numbered in the same order as listed; do not consolidate responses. Responses should be specific and include relevant examples. The SOQ must be no more than 3 pages, typed, using 12-point Arial font on standard letter-sized paper with one (1)-inch margins.1. Describe your experience managing or overseeing contracts or agreements. Include the scope and complexity of the work, how you monitored performance and compliance, how you tracked progress, and any measurable or observable outcomes (e.g., improved efficiency, reduced delays, cost savings).
2. Describe your experience collecting, analyzing, and using data to support planning, operations, or decision-making. Explain how you organized or tracked information, the tools or methods you used, and how you communicated your findings to others.
3. Describe your experience applying or updating policies, procedures, or regulatory requirements in your work. In your response, explain how you ensured alignment with applicable requirements, implemented changes, and maintained accuracy, consistency, and accountability.
