Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced Production Planner in Fresno, CA. This role is responsible for managing customer orders and forecasts to determine ingredient and packaging needs, while developing and maintaining the plant’s production schedule. The Production Planner works closely with inventory, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure efficient production, minimize disruptions, and support continuous improvement in demand planning and inventory management.

Status: Seasonal | Non-Exempt

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an 8-week (or longer) production schedule based on customer forecasts and purchase orders.
- Evaluate production strategies to minimize changeovers and maximize efficiency.
- Identify long-lead materials and coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely procurement.
- Generate and distribute batching documents with all required formula information.
- Use ERP systems to issue ingredients and packaging for completed runs and analyze cost variances.
- Prepare production reports, including yield loss and On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) metrics.
- Conduct inventory reviews and perform physical counts as needed to maintain accuracy.
- Lead or co-lead weekly production planning meetings to address risks and scheduling adjustments.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of production planning experience, preferably in food and beverage manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of demand forecasting and customer order management.
- Experience planning ingredient and packaging needs with appropriate lead times.
- Knowledge of batching, filling, and packaging processes.
- Ability to align customer demand with plant capacity and production capabilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
