FOX Entertainment’s Business & Legal Affairs department is seeking a seasoned Director, Business and Legal Affairs executive to support FOX’s network and studio scripted development and production.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Negotiate a variety of production and development deals and negotiate and finalize agreements, including all above-the-line talent agreements, rights agreements, below-the-line production agreements, and other contracts as necessary
- Provide ongoing legal advice on strategic and complex matters around production, clearance, and other issues
- Analyze agreements in response to business questions, and provide information as necessary
- Manage relationships with agents, lawyers, and studio executives throughout the entertainment industry
- Create and maintain departmental resources and actively participate in the establishment of departmental policies for scripted programming
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Active member of the California bar or Registered In-House Counsel status
- Seasoned executive with 5+ years of prior legal experience, with significant prior entertainment production and/or distribution experience
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Effective manager of others, adept at supervising, providing feedback, and mentoring other members of the team
- Established relationships within the entertainment community
- Extensive hands-on experience with complex contracts
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and to remain composed under pressure
