Respiratory Therapist

MBHC has an excellent reputation and is well regarded as a complex respiratory DME provider in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area for over 2 decades. Currently, we have the following permanent full-time position available for our Sacramento location: Respiratory Therapist.

Job Description:

• Provides set-up of respiratory equipment per physician order, including but not limited to portable ventilation, CPAP/Bi-Level, oxygen therapy, airway clearance devices, and other monitoring devices.
• Provides instructions to the patient and/or his/her caregivers on the use of home respiratory equipment and respiratory therapy procedures.
• Ensures that the patient and/or his/her caregivers are competent in the use and maintenance of the prescribed respiratory equipment.
• Provides routine patient follow-ups via phone or home visits based on patient needs.
• Shares on-call responsibility and responds to emergency calls on an on-call basis.
• Responsible for patient safety quality control including proper documentation per My Best Homecare policies, including preparing and maintaining patient records.
• Performs inspection and testing of equipment for proper operations prior to delivery.
• Consult with referring physicians and home health nurses regarding patient care and patient safety.
• Acts as a clinical point of contact in facilitating and ensuring safe patient home discharge.
• Presents a positive and professional image during all interactions with patients and referral sources.
• Participates in ongoing education and training sessions to ensure competencies in the operations of the various types of respiratory equipment provided by My Best Homecare.
• Performs other related duties as directed by the manager.

Qualifications:

• Possesses a valid and current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license with strong consideration for individuals holding RRT certification.
• Possesses a clean driving record, a valid and current California driver’s license and the willingness to drive long distances to see patients.
• Possesses a can-do attitude and willingness to help other fellow human beings.
