Crew Leader

We are seeking an experienced Crew Leader to join our team. This role is ideal for a skilled climber who is passionate about arboriculture, safety, and leadership. As a Crew Leader, you will be responsible for performing high-quality tree care while leading a crew in safe, efficient job execution.
Position Overview
The Crew Leader is responsible for performing and overseeing tree pruning, removals, and health assessments while maintaining the highest safety standards. You will lead by example in the field, coordinate with ground crews, and serve as a professional point of contact for clients and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tree climbing for pruning, removals, and specialized tree care services
- Safely operate and maintain climbing systems, chainsaws, rigging, and aerial equipment
- Assess tree health, structural integrity, and potential hazards
- Apply proper pruning techniques to enhance tree health and appearance
- Remove hazardous limbs and trees while minimizing risk to people and property
- Lead and coordinate ground crew operations for efficient debris removal
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites in accordance with company policies
- Communicate professionally with clients, offering expert guidance and recommendations
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards
- Serve as a crew leader and liaison between field staff and upper management
Qualifications & Skills
- ISA Certified Arborist – Required
- Valid California Driver’s License with ability to drive tree trucks and operate chippers
- Proven ability to lead a crew and communicate effectively with management
- Fluency in English required
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
- Strong experience in tree climbing, pruning, and removals
- Knowledge of tree species identification, health assessment, and industry safety standards
- Ability to operate, maintain, and inspect tree care tools and equipment
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
