Sales Executive - Building Automation Solutions

As a Solutions Sales Executive , you’ll help drive the growth of Siemens’ Smart Buildings business by bringing innovative building automation solutions to life in new construction projects. In this role, you’ll work closely with developers, contractors, engineers, and building owners to deliver smart, efficient, and future-ready buildings.

This is a consultative sales role that blends technical knowledge with relationship-building and business development. Whether you’re an experienced professional or an engineering graduate looking to transition into sales, you’ll gain hands-on experience influencing project decisions, solving customer challenges, and shaping the built environment through advanced technology.

This position can be a Sales Executive (<2 years' experience) or Sr. Sales Executive (2+ years' experience) level depending on directly related experience.

As a Solutions Sales Executive, you will:

  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities, forecast accurately, and consistently achieve booking and profit targets
  • Develop and grow relationships with contractors, consultants, developers, and end users, both expanding existing accounts and winning new business
  • Engage customers in a consultative sales approach to understand their needs and recommend building automation solutions that improve performance, efficiency, and safety
  • Identify new markets, verticals, and accounts and support go-to-market strategies to drive growth within your territory
  • Partner with internal teams including engineering, estimating, operations, and finance to develop proposals, pricing, and successfully close deals
  • Stay current on industry trends and represent Siemens through active participation in professional organizations (such as ASHRAE, AEE, or USGBC), networking events, and ongoing engagement in sales meetings, workshops, and training seminars
  • Spend a minimum of 50% of your time in customer-facing activities, performed in person and on customer sites, with approximately 10% overnight travel for training and business development

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Technical sales experience in a related industry or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with demonstrated interest or experience in customer-facing, sales, or business development activities
  • Must be able to demonstrate:
    • Financial expertise skills to estimate and sell technical solutions and service offerings effectively and independently 
    • Account development and strategic sales skills 
    • Organizational, presentation, and negotiation skills 
  • High School Diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering
  • 2+ years sales experience within the commercial building automation or HVAC controls industry
  • Salesforce CRM, Software, IoT, and networking experience
  • Experience in the life sciences, healthcare, education, data center, and commercial office vertical markets
