Investigator, Labor Relations II (Burbank)

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Conduct Workplace Investigations Independently manage end-to-end investigations into employee complaints
• Interview complainants, respondents, witnesses, and other relevant parties
• Gather and analyze evidence to determine facts objectively
• Handle sensitive matters including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace violence, and misconduct
• 2. Investigation Planning & Execution: Develop investigation strategies and interview frameworks
• Identify and collaborate with relevant stakeholders (HR, Legal, Security, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws
• 3. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare clear, detailed investigation reports with findings and conclusions
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of all cases
• Present outcomes and recommendations to stakeholders
• 4. Employee Discipline & Resolution: Recommend appropriate disciplinary actions based on findings
• Communicate outcomes to employees professionally and tactfully
• Draft disciplinary letters, agreements, and other documentation
• 5. Labor Relations & Stakeholder Management: Partner with Labor Relations teams on union-related matters and grievances
• Participate in grievance handling and settlement discussions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, HR, and business leaders
• 6. Case Management: Manage multiple investigations simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Ensure timely resolution while maintaining quality and fairness
• Required Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in Employee Relations, HR, Legal, or a related field
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of employment laws (e.g., ADA, EEOC, FLSA, NLRA)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interviewing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook (Excel preferred)
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in unionized or labor-intensive environments
• Experience supporting production or large workforce populations
• Prior experience conducting workplace investigations
