Investigator, Labor Relations II (Burbank)
Duration : 2+ Months Contract
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Conduct Workplace Investigations Independently manage end-to-end investigations into employee complaints
- Interview complainants, respondents, witnesses, and other relevant parties
- Gather and analyze evidence to determine facts objectively
- Handle sensitive matters including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace violence, and misconduct
- 2. Investigation Planning & Execution: Develop investigation strategies and interview frameworks
- Identify and collaborate with relevant stakeholders (HR, Legal, Security, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws
- 3. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare clear, detailed investigation reports with findings and conclusions
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of all cases
- Present outcomes and recommendations to stakeholders
- 4. Employee Discipline & Resolution: Recommend appropriate disciplinary actions based on findings
- Communicate outcomes to employees professionally and tactfully
- Draft disciplinary letters, agreements, and other documentation
- 5. Labor Relations & Stakeholder Management: Partner with Labor Relations teams on union-related matters and grievances
- Participate in grievance handling and settlement discussions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, HR, and business leaders
- 6. Case Management: Manage multiple investigations simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure timely resolution while maintaining quality and fairness
- Required Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in Employee Relations, HR, Legal, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of employment laws (e.g., ADA, EEOC, FLSA, NLRA)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interviewing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook (Excel preferred)
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in unionized or labor-intensive environments
- Experience supporting production or large workforce populations
- Prior experience conducting workplace investigations
