Job Title: Janitor (Industrial / Machine Shop)

Pay: $24/hour

Schedule:

First Shift (Tuesday & Wednesday: 7am-3:30p, Thursday & Friday: 6am-3:30pm, and Saturday (6am-12pm) - $24/hour (2 hour OT)

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Janitor to maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization within our machine shop and surrounding facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring a safe and efficient work environment by keeping areas clean, removing debris, and properly handling industrial waste such as metal shavings and fluids.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to maintain a steady, productive pace throughout their shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain shop floors, workstations, restrooms, and break areas
• Sweep, mop, and scrub floors, including removal of oil, grease, and coolant spills
• Safely dispose of metal shavings, scrap materials, and industrial waste
• Empty trash and recycling containers
• Clean machinery exteriors and surrounding areas (no machine operation required)
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify supervisor when restocking is needed
• Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and industrial vacuums
• Complete tasks efficiently and within assigned timeframes
• Assist with general facility upkeep as needed

• Strong work ethic with consistent productivity
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• High attention to detail
• Dependable and punctual
• Knowledge of proper handling of industrial cleaning chemicals
• Strong awareness of workplace safety procedures
• Bilingual - English & Spanish (Preferred)

Work Environment

• Industrial machine shop setting
• Exposure to metal dust, oils, coolants, and loud equipment
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots
