Requirements
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients on a medical unit
- Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with orders
- Perform thorough assessments and document patient status in the medical record
- Collaborate with nursing staff, providers, and correctional facility personnel for coordinated care
- Respond promptly and effectively to changes in patient condition and emergent situations
- Maintain a safe, secure environment and follow facility-specific safety and custody protocols
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain competence and compliance
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (RN) — California license strongly preferred
- Current BLS certification; ACLS and other advanced certifications a plus
- Clinical experience in medical or similar inpatient settings; prior correctional health experience is a plus
- Ability to pass facility background checks and comply with correctional facility requirements
- Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills
