Job Description and Duties

PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) – CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / CALAVERAS SECTOR / INDIAN GRINDING ROCK STATE HISTORIC PARK

“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. The reporting location for this position is Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park in Pine Grove , CA . This position will work under the supervision of the Staff Park and Recreation Specialist.

The Park Aide position is an entry level position that performs front line park operation work at Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park. The Park Aide will be responsible for assisting with park operations and visitor programs at Indian Grinding Rock SHP. The Park Aide performs front line park operation work including fee collection, assist with campground operations, answering questions, providing information to the public, assisting interpretive staff with educational and interpretive programs, working in the Chaw’se Regional Indian Museum, helping keep the museum clean and organized, and completing assigned projects.

This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)
