Purchasing Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager for a direct hire opportunity with a growing electrical contractor in Canoga Park, CA. This role is ideal for a procurement professional with strong electrical construction knowledge who enjoys working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

The Purchasing Manager will support commercial, industrial, healthcare, hospitality, aerospace, and tenant improvement projects by sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, controlling costs, and coordinating closely with project management, field operations, warehouse teams, and vendors. This is a high-impact role where accurate purchasing, timely deliveries, and strong vendor partnerships directly support project success.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and purchase electrical materials, equipment, tools, and supplies for active commercial and industrial construction projects.

- Review project specifications, material takeoffs, and material requests to ensure accurate ordering and timely fulfillment.

- Generate, manage, and track purchase orders using construction material management software.

- Obtain competitive supplier quotes, negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

- Coordinate with Project Managers, Field Supervisors, warehouse personnel, and vendors to support project schedules and prevent material delays.

- Maintain purchasing records, reconcile purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts, and prepare purchasing and vendor performance reports.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $110,000 to $180,000 per year.
