Role: Python Engineer

Location: Remote (USA/Canada)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Python Engineer with strong expertise in building and deploying APIs using FastAPI . The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing robust, scalable backend services and deploying them in production environments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop APIs, integrate services, and ensure efficient deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance APIs using FastAPI .
• Build scalable backend services that integrate with databases and third-party systems.
• Deploy, monitor, and manage FastAPI applications in production environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms).
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented Python code.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver features end-to-end.
• Implement best practices for testing, CI/CD pipelines, and API security.
• Troubleshoot, optimize performance, and ensure system reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python with proven experience in backend/API development.
• Expertise in FastAPI (or similar frameworks like Flask/Django, with clear preference for FastAPI).
• Experience deploying FastAPI applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and/or using Docker & Kubernetes .
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design principles and standards.
• Hands-on experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and ORM tools (e.g., SQLAlchemy, Tortoise ORM).
• Familiarity with authentication/authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git/GitHub/GitLab).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Nice-to-Have (Preferred)

• Knowledge of async programming in Python.
• Familiarity with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI).
• Experience with microservices architecture .
• Exposure to event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Basic understanding of monitoring & logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
