At Jikoni, our mission is to offer every guest an experience rooted in warmth, belonging, and hospitality, brought to life through African food prepared through a California lens.

Jikoni is a private dining event company seeking a dedicated and personable Server to join our front-of-house team. As the primary host of our dining experience, you ensure every guest feels the warmth of Jikoni from the moment they enter. You will guide guests through our vibrant menu, provide attentive service, and contribute to a welcoming, organized, and culturally rich environment.

• Guest Engagement: Share the menu's story and guide guests through the AfriCali culinary journey.
• Elevated Service: Execute multi-course service with precision and grace.
• Event Production: Lead dining environment setup and breakdown, including tablescapes, decor, and bar stations.
• Anticipatory Hospitality: Proactively manage guest needs and dietary requirements with discreet service.

• Punctuality & Reliability: Arrive consistently on time and be prepared to provide excellent service
• Professional Attitude: Maintain positive, warm to ensure all guests have the same experience
• Teamwork: Communicate proactively and support colleagues to ensure smooth service
• Passion for Hospitality: Show genuine interest in our menu and culture, and take pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences
• Customer Service Skill: 2+ years in a full-service environment; ability to manage multiple guest needs and explain diverse flavor profiles
• Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain tidy dining areas and adhere to all California health and safety guidelines

• 2+ years experience in a fast-paced restaurant
• Valid Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service Certifications (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills
• Must be available weekends
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
• Background check required

• Barista experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency with multiple POS systems and basic math skills for handling payments

• Pay: Competitive day rate based on experience
• Tips: Eligible after successful completion of training when applicable
