Journeyman Electrician
1 Resource Group is seeking skilled and dependable Journeyman Electricians for a project in Barstow, California. The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on commercial, industrial, or government construction projects and possess the required California certifications to perform electrical work within the state.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Install conduit, cable trays, wiring, lighting systems, panels, switchgear, and related electrical equipment.
- Perform testing and inspections of electrical systems to ensure proper operation and compliance.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), California Electrical Code, project specifications, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, inspectors, and other trades to complete work efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and daily work records.
- Follow all OSHA, company, and client safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of electrical construction experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of electrical installation methods, materials, and equipment.
- Experience with conduit bending, wire pulling, terminations, and equipment installation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Requirements
Candidates must possess and maintain the following certifications:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician credentials.
- Current California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) Electrician Certification.
California Requirement:
Per California state regulations, any electrician performing electrical work on a jobsite within the State of California must be certified as an electrician through the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). Candidates must provide proof of current DIR certification prior to employment and maintain certification throughout the duration of the project.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- Experience on industrial, government, military, energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience with medium-voltage systems, motor controls, and instrumentation.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to wear required PPE and work safely in active construction environments.
