Victor Valley Global Medical Center, founded in 1967, is a 101-bed acute care hospital and premier healthcare facility in Victorville, a community in the high desert. Variety of cases, including regional anesthesia, orthopedic, regional blocks, and OB. Most cases are ASA 1-2. No chronic pain management, cardiac, major vascular anesthesia, pediatric anesthesia, neuroanesthesia, trauma anesthesia, critical care medicine, usually anesthesia for outpatient surgery, office-based anesthesia, rarely administrative / leadership duties, no pre-op screening clinic or acute pain.

OR call is four to six calls a month. Anesthesiologist on first call: flexible, both first and backup call receive stipends.

Requirements

• Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and / or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and / or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed
• M.D. / D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
• ECFMC and FLEX
• Completion of approved Residency in Anesthesia
• Currently licensed as a Physician
