Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Manager II (Associate Deputy Director), the incumbent performs highly complex and sensitive assignments, including specialized program and policy work that requires a high degree of professional judgment and discretion. The incumbent supports the development, evaluation, administration, and monitoring of policies, procedures, and funding programs for the Commission and assists in evaluating current and emerging issues for Commission action.

For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Working Conditions

Position located at 1120 N Street Sacramento, CA 95814.

This position involves teleworking and reporting to the office as needed and/or required. The incumbent is required to comply with telework agreement policies and procedures.

Travel to the Commission meetings may be required. Occasional travel to other meetings and hearings may also be required.

Must have effective communication with other staff members, Commission’s Executive Director, and be responsive to information requests from Commission members and other stakeholders.

While at their base of operation, employee will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting.

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

2. Stakeholder Coordination & Communication: How have you worked with multiple stakeholders to resolve an issue or move a project forward?

3. Data Analysis & Decision Support: How have you prepared written materials, reports, presentations, or briefing documents for leadership or decision-makers? Please describe your role and the purpose of the materials.

4 . Data Management & Reporting Tools: Describe your experience developing or maintaining spreadsheets, reports, tracking tools, or other data management resources used to support program administration, budgeting, project tracking, or executive decision-making. Include your specific role and the outcome.
