Operations Finance Manager

Are you a hands-on finance leader with a passion for driving operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are seeking an Operations Finance Manager to join this growing organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this key role will be partnered with plant operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to deliver financial insights, improve cost visibility, and support data-driven decision-making.
THE POSITION
As the Operations Finance Manager, you will serve as the primary finance business partner for manufacturing operations, ensuring accuracy in costing, providing actionable performance analysis, and supporting strategic initiatives. You will oversee standard cost systems, analyze manufacturing drivers, and develop meaningful KPIs and dashboards that guide productivity and efficiency improvements. Working cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, and IT, you’ll play a vital role in supporting growth, capital investments, and continuous improvement initiatives—all while reporting directly to the CFO and partnering closely with executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the financial partner to plant operations, supporting daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics and variance analysis.
- Own and maintain the standard cost system, ensuring accuracy and driving improvements.
- Analyze key cost drivers such as labor, yield, overhead absorption, and inventory movements.
- Develop and implement KPIs and dashboards to improve operational performance.
- Support operating plans, forecasts, and monthly close processes related to COGS and inventory valuation.
- Lead cost rollups, BOM accuracy, routings, and cost improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on capital projects, productivity initiatives, and supply chain cost trends.
- Partner with IT to enhance financial reporting tools and models.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and inventory processes.
THE CANDIDATE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA/CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in manufacturing or operations finance.
- Expertise in standard costing, cost accounting, and plant finance.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite preferred) and Excel, Power BI experience a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to build KPI frameworks and performance dashboards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- English/Spanish bilingual preferred.
- Food manufacturing experience highly desirable.
- A proactive, curious mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
